Election season is kicking off in Student Council as sponsor Julie Anderson will help narrow down the number of candidates. In the coming weeks the final candidates will begin campaigning for votes in the school-wide election.

Student Council is pairing with special education students on Friday to bring Minute To Win It to the school.

“We planned kind of a field day for special ed students,” student council member Rachel Hancock said. “We are just going to hang out with them have a good time and has snacks and it’ll be fun.”

Giving back is a big part of what Student Council does for the school, so this event was a no-brainer for Hancock.

“I’m on the community service committee so we were thinking of ways we could give back to the school,” Hancock said. “That was just a really easy way and it’s something we can do in class and reach out to a group that we don’t really get to interact with as much as we’d like.”
