All students in grades 9-11 will be taking the College Board PSAT assessment of math, writing, and reading readiness on Wednesday during 1st, 2nd and possibly part of 3rd period. Seniors are to arrive at school in the auditorium at 10:45 a.m. for an informational meeting with Jostens regarding graduation.

This year, a new PSAT will be introduced and taken by the freshman class and all students thereafter. With the new test comes some modifications, among them being a longer total testing time and new subscore reporting. A comprehensive chart of all the changes can be found on the PSAT website.

Although the scores students make on the PSAT test are not evaluated as criteria by college admissions officers, an exceptionally good score can distinguish juniors as National Merit semifinalists/finalists and has the potential to provide these students with substantial scholarship opportunities.

30 seniors in the district have been named National Merit semifinalists with 15 of those students Redhawks.
