Wingspan: How long have you been running track and what go you started?

Ford: “This is my eight year doing track. In middle school, the coaches just made me try track and I just fell in love with it.”

Wingspan: What fuels your passion for your sport?

Ford: “I guess what fuels me is when I have off days or disappointing days to motivate me to get back to where I need to be and what I need to run. Also my teammates and coaches and parents encouraging me to keep going and not give up.”

Wingspan: Who inspires you the most to succeed?

Ford: “Just my parents they really inspire me the most.”

Wingspan: What is something that you struggle with in your sport?

Ford: “I think being really hard on myself because when I do have a bad week, I take it to heart and think about it for the rest of the week.”

Wingspan: What disappoints you the most?

Ford: “Just not doing well. Meets that don’t go well are just disappointing.”

Wingspan: What is your favorite part

Ford: “I think just going out there, it’s an individual sport so knowing that it’s all me and all of my hardwork is the reason I won and no one else, that’s my favorite part.”

Wingspan: What makes you energetic before a race?

Ford: “Just being around my teammates and just remembering my goals, you know what I need to run that motivates me to do well before a race.”

Wingspan: What is your favorite part about being on the team?

Ford: “Just how we encourage each other that’s my favorite part about being a team we’re always there for eachother good days and bad, so I guess just the friendship and family bond that we have.”
