Wingspan: How long have you been running track and what got you started?

Palmer: “I’ve been doing track since seventh grade. Really just because my brother had done track before, my older brother.”

Wingspan: How did you know that track was the sport for you?

Palmer: “It was just the only sport that I seemed naturally good at. I just really succeeded in it from really young.”

Wingspan: What events do you run?

Palmer: “The 400 and the 300 hurdles.”

Wingspan: What fuels your passion to run?

Palmer: “I would say from winning and losing. From winning because it just feels good to win. Losing it just makes you want to get better.”

Wingspan: What is something that you struggle with?

Palmer: “Anxiety.”

Wingspan: Is there anything that you want to improve on?

Palmer: “In track I guess I just want to improve on my technique.”

Wingspan: What is one of your favorite things about track?

Palmer: “I would say the outcome of how well you do depends on how well you work, so your hard work really translates.”

Wingspan: What pumps you up before a race?

Palmer: “I would say it’s kind of just falling back on my training and knowing that I’ve worked really hard so that really gets me pumped up and ready to go test myself against other people.”

Wingspan: What is your favorite part about being on a team?

Palmer: “Just the fact that you can work with other people. They succeed so you succeed alongside them and that really just helps you grow as a person.”
