After rain washed out the UIL Area Marching Band Competition on Saturday, the band took part in the rescheduled competition on Monday but failed to advance to State, finishing 8th with just the top five advancing.

“Am I disappointed? Absolutely, but not in them; for them,” band director Jamie Weaver said. “I know they wanted to move on, but the biggest thing is to walk away not having regrets about the show and what they did was the best they’ve ever done.”

Weaver believes that what’s most important is how they act tomorrow.
“They have to come at it with [asking] what is the thing that’s gonna stick two years from now that we start tomorrow,” Weaver said. “We don’t wait two years from now to make it matter; it matters starting tomorrow.”
