The first of six scheduled forums to provide information on the Nov. 6 tax ratification election and bond proposition took place Wednesday night at Staley Middle School.

“I think it’s a really good program that they’ve put together,” Frisco ISD long range planning committee member Jamie Heit said. “It’s going to decrease the overall tax rate for taxpayers, yet still allow the district to add a lot of great programs, security measures, buildings and upgrades to the schools.”

The meeting was also broadcasted and posted on the district’s Facebook page for those who could not make it to Staley.

“I think getting the information out in front of your citizens is key,” political science and mock trial teacher at the CTE Center Ben Ewald said. “There will be positives and negatives to every proposal, but with an educated population comes an informed decision.”

Among the approximate 12 residents in attendance was 20 year Frisco resident Clark Miller.

“My three daughters all went through Frisco schools and thrived in those communities,” Miller said. “I think what they’re proposing is only going to make it better for those who are here and those who are yet to come.”
