New faces filled the halls on Monday evening as parents took on a student’s role and explored the campus for Meet the Teacher night, spending 10 minutes in each of their child’s classes.

“I think one of the benefits of meet the teacher night, is that we get to actually see, you know who our kids our living with during the day when they are not with us,” physics teacher Christine Rittenhouse said. “So it is kind of interesting to see the different backgrounds, the different professions that their parents have and kind of what their expectations are for their kids.”

An annual attendee, senior mom Misty Kawecki, appreciates parent teacher night.

“I think it is a great opportunity for parents to come in and meet all of the teachers and personalities of the teachers that the kids are interacting with everyday,” Kawecki said. “I think meeting the teachers and getting an idea of their personalities and what their requirements are for the students, just being able to anticipate some of those needs and their reminders and updates for when things are due. Actually this is my fourth year, I have a senior who is graduating, but every year I get to meet new teachers and see new faces.”
