Seeking a final win before playoffs, the tennis team takes the court against the Lions in their last District 9-5A match on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. at Reedy.

“I think we’ve been doing pretty well in singles so far, and we’ve improved a lot in supporting each other, such as cheering for each other during matches and working together well as a team,” sophomore Bonnie Wu said via text. “It’s a little nerve racking because it’s our last district match but I trust that we’re all going to play our best.”

Hoping to finish the season with a 7-2 district record, junior Mehak Kaul and her teammates focus on going into the match with a winner’s mentality.

“We intend to keep the right mindset that we can win,” Kaul said via text. “And we will go into the game with a clear head and the support for our teammates.”

Along with the correct mindset, the Redhawks have worked hard in preparation for the match, despite having already earned a spot in playoffs.

“Even though we’ve already made playoffs, this is still an important match to win,” sophomore Kayla Baker said via text. “We will definitely be working hard in practice this week in order to go out and compete well and get the job done on Thursday.”
