DECA members went to the Irving Convention Center to complete the second part of districts, role play. This portion plays a huge part in determining which students are able to go to State. After advancing to state, students will have the chance to go to internationals.

Making it to state is on the line Tuesday as DECA students members participate in individual and partner role plays with the role play section accounting for 67 percent of a student’s score and a 100 question test making up the remainder of the score.

To prepare for the competition, students have been doing what they can to help them succeed in their given field.

“I looked at the performance indicators that I will have for this competition,” senior Saahithi Joopelli said. “Then I’ve been practicing”

The chance to advance to state is something students are looking forward to as they compete at the Irving Convention Center Tuesday.

“It would be a really good experience and it would be really nice before I graduate,” senior Maahi Patel said. “I’m super excited to be able to compete with everyone and I think we’re gonna do a great job.”
