Informational meetings to explain Frisco ISD advanced academic classes

The first of the district’s advanced academics nights is Monday night at Independence High School starting at 6:30 pm.

Students grades fifth through eleventh and their parents are invited to attend.  The event will help attendees determine what classes students should take, ranging from pre-AP to IB.

“Advanced Academics Night is a great way to get a district-wide perspective of what advanced courses and programs are available to support FISD students,” advanced academics coordinator Srikrishna Chetty said via email. “We have found it to be helpful in giving parents and students a clearer picture of the whole secondary experience.”

Monday’s program is at Independence while Tuesday’s event is set for Memorial.

A separate informational event for CTE classes will be held Feb. 5 at the CTE center.

Details on dual credit options will be presented at the Dual Credit Information Night on March 5 in the auditorium.
