It was a Saturday of firsts for winter guard as the varsity team took first place at their first competition of the year at Coppell High School for the NTCA Coppell High School Competition.

“It went really well,” senior Sydney Graff said. “We all performed together really well on the floor. I think our performance and end up being really awesome and we ended up getting first which is really awesome.”

The group’s success wasn’t limited to the varsity level.

“Our JV got third which is super cool because most of the people on JV were very inexperienced and they had just joined this year so it’s really awesome to see that they did that,” Graff said. “I’m just really proud of the team overall.”
