Ceramic classes will be having a coffee mug party on Thursday to celebrate their finished coffee mug project.

“I love the idea that we can make our own mugs and drink out of them, so that’s where the idea came from,” art teacher Fred Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez combines his love for coffee and art with his teaching to create a positive learning environment for his students.

“It started with my passion for coffee,” Rodriguez said. “I wanted to show my classes how you can make something and then use it rather than just building sculptures or making art that isn’t functional.”
