Winter Guard will conclude their season with their final performance on Sunday at the NCTA Championships at Flower Mound High School. Sunday’s competition comes as Winter Guard was reclassified to the national level.

Another competition meant another win for winter guard as they took first place in the NTCA Winter Guard Contest at Wakeland High School Saturday.

“It’s kind of fun being able to like compete against like your friends but then it felt really cool to know that we got first twice,” senior Sydney Graff said. “I feel like our all of our hard work we’ve been putting into it has really been paying off and stuff and I’m excited to see like if we move up and like where it goes.”

Although the squad is on a hot streak, winter guard director Eric Mills isn’t going to let winning dictate the direction of the team.

“I was very impressed with the performances of both groups,” Mills said. “We try to measure our success by how we personally feel about our performance. Winning is fun, but we know it doesn’t define the success of our performance. We feel great about our shows and we are excited to keep working to improve.”
