Four out of five All-State band students were named 1st chair in their categories, the most in the state, at the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All-State Convention in San Antonio.

“It’s awe inspiring,” band director Jamie Weaver said. “Especially after seeing that we had the most amount of people achieve the first chair out of every other school in state both 5A and 6A.”

For senior Joshua Lee the experience was beneficial.

“I guess through the experience I learned that hard work definitely pays off,” Lee said. “All of that effort in the end I kind of got the result I wanted. Like in the future, this encourages me to work hard with everything I do.”
