It’s back to even ground (3-3) in District 9-5A play for the baseball team after its 4-3 win in the first of a two game series against the Independence Knights on Tuesday.

“We can’t underestimate anybody,” senior Mitchell Miller said. “We need to continue to play our game, and not play down to the other teams’ level or do more than we think we need to.”

Aiming for a 2-0 record on the week, Miller believes the team needs to approach Friday’s game with a winning mindset.

“I think we’ve been hitting the ball very well,” he said. “We need to improve our mentality that we can and need to win both games this week.”
