Taking on the Frisco Raccoons, the Redhawk softball team looks to add a third win to its District 9-5A record on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. at home.

“They are pretty equal to us, so it should be a good game,” senior Sophie Rodriguez said. “We’ve just been focusing on the fundamentals and getting better in practice everyday.”

Sitting in ninth place in the District 9-5A standings, Rodriguez hopes her and her teammates can come out strong and put away a win against the Raccoons.

“We hope to go out and showcase our skills,” she said. “As long as we do everything right, we hope we can come out with a win tonight.”

A field over, the Redhawk baseball team looks for a comeback against the Lone Star Rangers on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m after its 5-0 loss against the Frisco Raccoons on Monday.

“Right now in the season we don’t have a shot at playoffs so we’re playing for pride at this point and trying to knock some other schools out of the playoffs,” senior Mitchell Miller said. “After yesterday’s game, I think we could all reflect. Tonight we’re back to our normal schedule, and I think we’ll come out with a better mentality and try to have more fun.”

While a District 9-5A playoff spot isn’t in the cards for the Redhawks, Miller hopes that him and his teammates can enjoy what is left of the 2018-19 season.

“I want to see us all have a good time and enjoy playing the game because yesterday’s game wasn’t fun to play in,” he said. “I think as long as we’re cheering each other on and making the most of it, we’ll have a better outcome.”
