Football took home a win after a scrimmage against Royce City, dominating 28-24. After going 0-10 last season, football is looking up for the 2019-20 season.

It was a scrimmage, but Friday meant redemption for the football team as they traveled to Royse City and scored a 28-24 win, providing a kick start for a varsity program that went winless in 2018.

“I think this win will give us momentum going into our first game,” junior Will Glatch said. “It also showed us that our hard work in the offseason paid off.”

The win over the Bulldogs gives the players a mental boost heading into Friday’s season-opening game at North Garland.

“I think it made us more confident and gave us motivation,” senior Keavon Wright said. “It was a good start for us and just hope for more wins in the future.”
