The Frisco ISD Board of Trustees held its monthly meeting Tuesday evening to discuss many topics including future-ready spotlights and various approval plans. This month’s future ready focus area is basic conditions of learning, and the board voted to nominate Gopal Ponangi for the Frisco Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors.

The Frisco ISD Board of Trustees moved to apply for full day pre-K waiver for this school year at Monday night’s board meeting.

As a result of HB 3 passed this June, school districts in the state must have free pre-K programs for 4-year-olds that fit certain requirements, including non-English speakers and those who qualify for free or reduced lunch programs. The district is expected to offer pre-K in the 2020-20201 school year.

The board recommended that Joeris General Contractors, Ltd. be awarded the contract for multi-million dollar renovations at Anderson and Christie Elementary Schools

Also discussed at the meeting was the move for ExpressVote Universal Voting systems to be used in all future Collin County elections.
