As the break approaches, so does the deadline for Frisco Education Foundation Scholarship applications, on Friday at 4:00 p.m. With only a three week window, some students have been scrambling to complete the forms, but can earn a portion of $7.2 million the foundation has given.

Before seniors break for the holidays from Dec. 23-Jan. 7, the Frisco Education Foundation Scholarship deadline comes to a close Friday at 4:00 p.m.

Senior Kyle McCord sees the scholarship as another way to help pay his tuition next fall.

“I have to pay for college,” senior Kyle McCord said. “The scholarship I get from that specific  university isn’t enough.”

Given a time frame of less than three weeks, senior Celia Abdallah is finding it hard to make the deadline.

“The FEF scholarship is a little more stressful than what I was anticipating,” Abdallah said. “I understand that they have a lot of students they have to choose from so they have to have some way to narrow it down.”

Although the application went live Dec. 2, Abdallah encourages next year’s seniors to use their time wisely.

“My advice for seniors applying next year is to start as soon as possible,” Abdallah said. “It’s really stressful trying to get everything in the last minute.”
