Red Rhythm spends the majority of their season rehearsing for football halftime shows and pep rallies, but twice a year they get to be the ones competing. In their first competition, at Independence on Saturday, Red Rhythm took home fifteen team awards and three dancers earned solo awards.

“This season, the team worked very hard on their contest choreography and gave it their all when they competed,” Red Rhythm director Nicole Nothe said via email. “We are proud of the dance officers and the team for winning Grand Champions, as well as our solo finalist, Annie Tian and solo winners, Abby Strater and Ashleigh Rose. We look forward to watching the team compete at the DanceLine contest this weekend in Celina.”

Among the individuals that earned solo awards was junior Lieutenant Abby Strater.

“It’s relieving,” Strater said. “To put so much work into something is very stressful, and to win makes it all worth it and takes away all the stress. I’m extremely proud of how we did. We have been working towards this for two  months and to see it pay off is amazing.”
