Just a few weeks after it was announced that she would perform the theme for the new upcoming James Bond film No Time To Die, Billie Eilish dropped the song of the same title as the movie.

As a huge fan of the James Bond franchise, naturally I was already excited for the movie to come out in April but even happier that Billie was the one performing the theme. It’s clear that she put in so much effort in perfecting it and making it match up with the bit of the plot that viewers know about.

The trailer for the movie gives a sneak peak into Bond’s life after the events in Spectre when he caught Ernst Stavro Blofeld, played by the legend Christoph Waltz. Bond fell in love, again, with his companion Madeleine Swann who seems to have some secrets from her past that will catch up to her in this new movie.

From the trailer it appears Swann’s past seems to begin to catch up to her and she can no longer keep lying to Bond. Billie’s portrayal of the betrayal that Bond is feeling is so perfect and consistent with the storyline, that one can only applaud her for her work.

The song really focuses on the love that will soon be lost and the betrayal that will be not only seen, but felt. Anyone who has seen a Bond film knows about its imaginative and provocative intros, and the music always seems to fit perfectly with them. It’s safe to say that this is the case with this song as well. One can’t help but feel sucked into the world of MI6 and spies with the bold 007 vibes that this song gives off.

Many people, wrongfully, doubted Billie’s ability to create the theme to this movie. And it feels great to hear how wrong they were with this incredible song.
