To kick off the 2020 season, baseball participated in a tournament on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Utilizing the games for practice, the team prepares for district play.

Just as Major League Baseball begins spring training, the Redhawks baseball started its 2020 season with games scheduled for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The slate of non-district games provides a learning experience for the team.

“We’re focusing on seeing what our weaknesses and strengths are during these non-district games,” junior Will Glatch said. “As well as to get a feel for what everyone’s roles will be this year.”

With the school’s baseball field grass, the recent round of rain has dampered the team’s ability to practice at home. However, the Redhawks have gotten help from neighboring schools, despite any rivalries.

“The rain has affected practice,” Glatch said. “But we have gotten to use Independence which was really nice.”
