Continuing their road to state, the girls’ basketball team takes on the Red Oak High School Hawks at the Curtis Culwell Center  Friday at 7:30 p.m.

“We’re pretty confident going into the game tonight versus Red Oak,” junior Maya Jain said. “We’ve spent a lot of time on the court and in film just absorbing as much as we can.”

After winning last Tuesday’s game by a single point, the team has tunnel vision on defending their Regional Championship title.

“As a team we all want to go to state again but we’re really focusing on taking it one game at a time,” Jain said.  “So just a win tonight is our biggest focus right now.”

Practicing together since school has started, the team dynamic has only gotten stronger since starting their playoff run.

“I feel pretty confident and ready for the game just because I have faith in my teammates and our game plan,” sophomore Jazzy Owens said. “The dynamic just keeps growing and everybody’s starting to know themselves, as well as make plays. It’s actually very fun to be around. We will accomplish winning tonight’s game and going to the championships.”
