The softball team lost its second straight District 9-5A game Friday night, falling to the Reedy Lions 15-0.

“Our game didn’t go the way we wanted it to,” junior Rachel Wilson said. “But we did better at making the plays that we could make against Reedy but still fell short.”

Enduring a slow start to their season (0-6), the Redhawks have another chance for a win Monday.

“Tonight we play Centennial, and hopefully that will go better than our past few games,” Wilson said. “We just need to go into it optimistically and work really hard.”

After falling behind early to Reedy, junior Sue Slater says the team has plans on refining their strategies.

“I hope tonight we get out of defense quickly by making routine plays and pitching well,” Slater said. “I also hope we can make some good contact on the ball to score runs quickly so we don’t get behind.”
