Recognizing their chosen teacher, the girls’ soccer team takes the field for the final time in the 2020-2021 season when the Redhawks host Lone Star Tuesday in District 9-5A play. The 5:30 p.m. kick off will be the final time the team’s 14 seniors play for the Redhawks (2020 file picture).

Taking on the Frisco Raccoons Tuesday night, the boys’ soccer team lost 4-0 in a District 9-5A match, ending their winning streak at three games.

It was a much different story for the girls’ team on their Teacher Appreciation Night as they scored a flurry of goals in the second half to win 5-0.

“They started off really strong,” head coach Elizabeth Mokler said. “So I was proud that they were playing as soon as the whistle was blown. They took some really hard hits but stayed classy and honored the game, that was great to see. The sideline players stood the entire game, and witnessing that level of support really made it feel like a true team.”
