Frisco ISD has extended the e-learning period until April 17, 2020. However, the district will be posting an updated timeline this week as schools move into their third week of online classes.

Although neighboring school districts such as Little Elm ISD have already announced there will be no in-person school through April 17, Frisco ISD is looking at the COVID-19 closure situation in smaller chunks, with the district expected to announce a new timeline this week.

“We’ll probably be doing this in chunks in determining whether or not we’re going to close the district for another set amount of time,” Frisco ISD Superintendent Mike Waldrip said in a Community Impact article.

Frisco ISD is now on its third week of online instruction since cancelling in person school on March 15.

“We’re still looking at what the counties and the state are wanting to do in terms of school closures or going back to our normal state of business,” FISD Chief Communications Officer Amanda McCune said in the Community Impact article.
