It was a record breaking performance for senior diver Lauren Burrell at the district diving meet as Burrell broke school, meet, personal and Frisco ISD Natatorium records with a score 491.65, besting the previous record of 469.96, previously set by Burrell.

“It was really good to break my record again, being my last district meet ever,” Burrell said. “It was a lot to take in.”

Burrell will compete in the regional meet on February 4 in hope of taking the necessary step to the state diving meet in Austin.

“I really want to break my record again,” Burrell said. “I want to break 500. Matt [Phillip, boys diver in the Class of 2015) barely broke that last year, and I want to beat him, because we’re really close. I have high expectations for that meet.”
