Rising Redhawk, an informational meeting for prospective 8th grade students, will be held Monday starting at 6 p.m. in the auditorium, with the program moving to the cafeteria at 6:30 p.m.

“It’s an opportunity for future Redhawks, the class of 2020, to come and meet the counselors and all the teachers and all the different classes and organizations we offer to them,” counselor secretary Shannon Webre said. “Students from Vandeventer and Fowler Middle School will be coming over here tonight.”

The meeting will start off in the auditorium at 6:00 p.m. with presentations from counselors detailing freshman year courses and scheduling to aid in class planning. Students will then be directed to the cafeteria and rotunda where teachers and students will provide briefs on the various subjects and clubs on campus.

“Tonight will give them an idea of what type of classes they can take,” Webre said. “They’re going to be introduced to a lot of new CTE center and foreign language classes that they never had the opportunity to take.”
