Playing two matches in less than 24 hours, the volleyball team took the court Friday evening and was back on it Saturday afternoon in District 9-5A matches, and ultimately, two more wins.

Friday night they played Memorial High School and ended the game with a 3-2  win (22-25, 25-20, 25-17, 19-25, 15-12).

“That game was really exciting because it was the first official game of [district play],” senior Grace Doung said. “That game really created an energy that we want to continue on for the rest of the season.”

Originally scheduled to play Reedy High School on Sept. 22, the game was rescheduled for Saturday at The Nest, with the Redhawks carrying its energy over from Friday night and beating the Lions 3-1.

“I really think coming off of the win on Friday night helped us,” junior Tanner Hanson said. “Although we were a little tired we knew the feeling of winning and we wanted to push ourselves to feel that again.”The team currently sits 2-0 in District 9-5A and looks to continue their winning streak against Frisco High School on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m.
