Since the creation of “A Charlie Brown Christmas” in 1965, the Peanuts gang have appeared in various TV cartoon specials, with the most beloved being the specials revolving around holidays, such as Halloween, Thanksgiving, and most of all, Christmas.

Every year these specials have been re-ran by various networks when they are seasonally appropriate, and many families all over the world would gather together to watch them.

This year, and for all future years, however, Apple TV+, Apple’s streaming service, has acquired exclusive rights to most of the Peanuts cartoon catalog, specifically, the holiday specials, and people who wish to view them will have to sign up for the service.

While this is grim news for some, Apple will allow viewers to watch the holiday specials for free during narrow time frames. Recently, “It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown” was available for all to watch from Oct. 31st to Nov. 1st. “It’s Thanksgiving Charlie Brown” will be available from Nov. 25th to Nov. 27th, but “A Charlie Brown Christmas” will be available early compared to the previous two as it will be able to be watched for free from Dec. 11th to Dec. 13th.

While these beloved cartoons will be harder to watch from now on, the comfort and humor they bring has not been diminished, and hopefully, they will continue to leave lasting memories for all who watch them far into the future.
