Red Rhythm will be hosting a mandatory informational parent and candidate meeting in the cafeteria on Thursday at 6 p.m. for all those interested in trying out for the drill team.

“We’re just discussing what the program consists of, what the requirements are, what the year looks like for someone who has never been on drill team and wants to know the commitment level,” drill team director Nicole Nothe said.

The meeting will go over future plans for the upcoming school year, including expenses, scholarships, and practice routines. Students must print out tryout information packets with dance team information, candidate applications and agreement contracts.

“We’re going to go over a PowerPoint and kind of go through what’s expected of you, the costs, and a little bit of everything that you need to know about tryouts,” assistant drill team director Jenna Fisher said.

While it is mandatory for parents to attend this meeting, arrangements can be made to meet with the directors and go over the meeting material if parents are unable to attend.

“We host this to make sure that the parents are on the same page so when they come into the program they aren’t completely confused,” Nothe said. “It’s important so the parents know what is going on just as much as the kids do so that everyone is in loop together.”
