It’s back to the court time for the Redhawk tennis team as they take on schools from all across the district Friday.

With the district tournament on April 12, head coach Erica Dopson is trying to lead the individuals to state so the team is doing everything they can to prepare.

“We are playing tournaments as often as possible,” Dopson said. “We are also doing drills to focus on being more aggressive.”

Playing at different locations throughout the district, boys’ doubles will be at Reedy, mixed doubles and girls’ doubles at Lebanon Trail, and boys’ singles at Frisco High School.

For sophomore Morgan Mowery, Friday’s tournament is a chance to work on all facets of her game.

“Getting ready for state is different because we focus on both our strengths and weaknesses,” Mowery said. “We make sure that we keep our positions consistent as well as our shots.”
