Wingspan: When did you start track?

Johanne: “I started track in 7th grade.”

Wingspan: Who encouraged you to start track?

Johanne: “My athletic coaches suggested I try out, so I did.”

Wingspan: What is the hardest part about track?

Johanne: “The hardest part about it would be the practices because they can be very enduring and tiring.”

Wingspan: What’s your favorite part about track?

Johanne: “My favorite part would have to be all the friends I have made and getting to compete with them.”

Wingspan: Who is your biggest role model?

Johanne: “My biggest role model is my mother because she always encourages me to try my best and is always there for me.”

Wingspan: What is one thing people think about your sport that isn’t actually true?

Johanne: “Some people assume that it’s not difficult because it’s only running and you don’t really have to be skilled for that, but it’s actually a lot of work.”

Wingspan: Do you have a pre game routine?

Johanne: “My pregame routine is just running a lap or 2 and then making sure I’m stretched and properly warmed up.”
