Baseball continues their first place lead as they beat the Knights 5-0. Heading into the second round of playoffs the teams are trying to focus on fine tuning their skills.

The baseball team started the second round of District 9-5A play Tuesday with a 5-0 win over Independence High School

For head coach Scott McGarrh, the win was a result of how the Redhawks approach each inning and each game.

“Continued to do what we do,” McGarrh said via email. “Five of our first six hitters barreled up balls, then had a bad 3rd inning, but we trusted the process, continued to do what we do and scored five in the fourth.”

Taking on district teams for the second time, the team is focusing on fine tuning their skills.

“We continue to focus on the little things, picks, base running, cuts, and relays,” McGharrh said. “Making sure those guys that don’t get in much during the game stay sharp either by live bullpens, live at-bats or scrimmaging each other.”
