Wingspan: When did you start wrestling?

Mealy: “I started wrestling this year.”

Wingspan: Who encouraged you to start wrestling?

Mealy: “Slater Eggen encouraged me to join wrestling and it’s been a life changing experience.”

Wingspan: What is the hardest part about wrestling?

Mealy: “The hardest part of wrestling is definitely wrestling our resident heavyweight Slater Eggen.”

Wingspan: What’s your favorite part about wrestling?

Mealy: “My favorite part of wrestling is the tournaments and facing new people each tournament.”

Wingspan: Who is your biggest role model?

Mealy: “My biggest role model is Slater because he has shown me the ropes and now I feel a lot more confident in sports.”

Wingspan: What is one thing people think about wrestling that isn’t actually true?

Mealy: “One thing that most people think is true but it isn’t is wearing a singlet isn’t that weird when you’re surrounded by others wearing the same thing.”

Wingspan: Do you have any superstitions?

Mealy: “Yes I have a superstition and it’s eating a pop tart before I go out and wrestle, if I don’t I feel I will lose.”

Wingspan: Do you have a pre-game routine?

Mealy: “My pre game routine is just calming myself down before I get on the mat and kill the kid in front of me.”
