After multiple double partners spent Tuesday and Wednesday at Melissa Zplex in the 5A Region II tournament, one pair is advancing to state.

Sophomores Sanjheev Rao and Milla Dopson will head to San Antonio at Northside Tennis Center for the UIL 5A State Tournament on May 20.

“I am proud of Milla’s hard work and accomplishments this year,” head coach Erica Dopson said. “And Sanjheev is so motivating on the court. They balance each other out and motivate each other.”

With both of the athletes returning to the program next year, Dopson hopes they will be able to guide the younger players.

“This will be a great leadership opportunity to teach those next year about winning,” Dopson said.
