Being one of the top students in the grade is an achievement recognized by the school every year. As second semester comes to a finish, this year’s top 10 students ranked in the graduating class are being commemorated for their accomplishments.

“When you look at a senior class as large as Liberty’s senior class,” principal Ashley Rainwater said, “To be in the top ten of our graduating class is a monumental occasion. These students have put extreme amounts of time and energy and efforts into their studies. This kids are really competing at a very high level.”

Finishing at number two for the class of 2021 and entering the title as salutatorian is graduate Anica Liu.

“The number doesn’t really matter to me as much as the overall experience,” Liu said. “I was able to learn a lot and grow from that too. I’m just really excited for the future and happy with my Liberty experience.”

Finishing up this year at the top of the senior class, valedictorian Tom Punnen believes the title is very rewarding for all of the hard work he has put into his four year’s on campus.

“I was definitely super excited to be valedictorian,” he said. “It’s definitely an honor being the top of your class and I know that all of my classmates have achieved amazing things as well. It’s just a reflection of all of the hard work I’ve done, and I know each [of my fellow classmates] would be super qualified to get it.”
