Boys’ basketball advances in playoffs

In the Bi-District round of 5A playoffs, the boys’ basketball team beat the Wylie Pirates 64-45. The team started out strong in the first half, leading Wylie 34-17. Bradley Saad led the offense with 14 points followed by Carter Brown with 12.

The number three state-ranked boys will take on number four state-ranked Rockwall Heath on Thursday with time and location to be determined.

With the boys advancing to the next round, the #22 ranked girls hope to do the same thing tonight in the third round of the playoffs. Taking on McKinney North at Anna High School, the Bulldogs finished as the number one seed in District 10-5A. McKinney North beat Wakeland and Poteet in the first two rounds of the playoffs.

In other sports action, the soccer teams take on Little Elm with the girls’ playing at home at 7:30 p.m. and the boys’ playing at Little Elm at the same time.
