The Redhawks winning streak was cut short on Friday when they fell 3-0 to the Lone Star Rangers in a District 9-5A volleyball game.

It was a close call at the end of the first set with neither the Redhawks nor the Rangers able to get a two point lead until Lone Star finally put the set away 37-35.

“The first round was really close,” senior Tanner Hansen said. “We went back and forth in overtime but Lone Star eventually scored that final point.”

The close loss combined with fatigue from putting their best foot forward was just enough to allow the Rangers to clip the Redhawk’s wings, winning the final two matches of the day for Lone Star.

“We try to always put the best version of our team out on the court and that’s what we’ve been focused on in the beginning of the season,” head coach Clark Oberle said. “We want to continue working hard on both our offensive and defensive sides and continue to see our scores climb.”
