Each month, wellness talks, tips, and tidbits are available for staff members via the new Notes from the Nurse newsletter.

Created by campus nurse Lindsey McDavid, the newsletter aims to shed light on current health news as well as an open forum for teachers’ medical-based questions.

“I wanted to increase staff awareness of current things that are going on medical wise and just to answer any questions they had,” McDavid said. “I get lots of staff members coming in and asking a lot of questions about a concern they have. And sometimes people don’t want to ask certain questions so they are able to do it anonymously too.”

The newsletter includes specific sections for pandemic-related information, as well as symptom rundowns for common illnesses each season.

“It’s open in case anyone wants to ask any funny questions or medical questions, things on their mind,” McDavid said. “I’ve also added things like ‘Flu verus Covid’ and if you can tell the difference with any symptoms of the two.”
