The Redhawks are back on the hunt looking to maintain their three game winning streak Friday against the Wakeland Wolverines in a District 9-5A basketball game starting at 6:30 p.m. at Wakeland High School.

The team wants to stay in the moment, not getting too far ahead and not focusing on the success of the past.

“It’s not so much about starting a certain way or ending a certain way,” girls’ head basketball coach Ross Reedy said. “When you focus on the moment, then you look to be the best you can in that moment, so it’s more about staying in the moment then it is coming out a certain way.”

Coming off of a 44-19 win against the Lebanon Trail Trail Blazers, the Redhawks are looking to continue to build.

“Against Wakeland, our focus is to continue to familiarize ourselves with each other,” senior Kamen Wong said. “Especially after losing one of our players to an injury, we are focusing on redefining our roles on the team, and know what looks will put our team in the best position possible.”

Coming off of two big wins, the team looks to stay true to themselves.

“That has to be our expectation,” Reedy said. “It’s the same for talking about a player. When people say that player is a gamer that means that player just gets up for games. When you don’t have a moment to moment focus then you will catch up to you at one point. No matter how much success you have you still go back to work the same way.”
