Wrestling kicked off the postseason as they took to the mat on Saturday at Rock Hill High School in the District 8-5A tournament with eight Redhawks advancing to the Region II Championships Friday and Saturday at Memorial.

“We wrestled really well overall this weekend,” Kelly Masucci said via text. “A lot of us had really great matches whether or not we ended up in the top four.”

Senior De’leon Freeman is continuing his season with a maintained degree of intensity, with state placement as an end goal.

“I’m treating it like any other tournament,” Freemain said. “The competition is getting tougher but it doesn’t matter.”

The advancing Redhawks continue with the support of their whole team behind him.

“Definitely a great turnout for us all,” senior Garrett Reeves said. “We hope to send all of them to state.”
