Every year many of the school’s clubs host events for Valentine’s Day in order to fundraise or raise money. However, for Acapella Club, Valentine’s Day means spreading love to others through the use of songs.

“We thought it would be very fun to offer people in school a way to express their care and love for others specifically through music,” club president Shriya Pattangi said. “We wanted this to be fun for both the sender and the recipient and thought it would be a great way to infuse some liveliness into the school atmosphere.”

To request a sing-a-gram, students must complete a form and confirm a date and location for both the sender and receiver.

“The sign up is easy,” vice president Sadhana Dharmmireddy said. “You sign up [using the] form, and one of the officers will contact the sender to coordinate and confirm a time. The sender is in charge of bringing the person to the place they signed up for.”

For sophomore Haasani Busireddy, requesting a sing-a-gram allowed her to express her care and love for her friends.

“I requested and sent a sing-a-gram because it’s the little things that make Valentine’s Day so special and I wanted to be a part of this opportunity to bring a little bit of love into people’s hearts,” Busireddy said. “Sending a sing-a-gram was so much fun and watching the receivers listen and their reactions were so wholesome, and the whole club felt amazing about being able to spread some joy within our campus.”

Through sing-a-grams, students can enjoy and remember the small moments with their friends and loved ones.

“I think [requesting] sing-a-grams is a good way to show your love to someone and make every moment count because you never know what the future holds,” Busireddy said. “They also happen to be free of cost!”
