After a series of ties early on in their season, the boys’ team thought they had caught a break after securing a win. However, the coyotes didn’t let the Redhawks get too far ahead before reeling them back in.

The boys’ soccer team kept its unbeaten District 9-5A streak alive on Friday after finishing in a 3-3 draw against the Heritage Coyotes.

“I expected Heritage to be a good team with a lot to play for. They looked very strong and motivated,” assistant coach Kyle Parks said. “We played well in chilly conditions and responded by going down a goal. Although a tie isn’t ideal, it was still a valuable result that will give us a chance at finishing district champions.”

Friday’s draw is the team’s fifth of the season, leaving them 9-0-5 on the season, with their 32 points leaving them in 2nd place.

“Being undefeated is exciting and a bit daunting,” Parks said. “We know we are a great team that can beat anyone, but at the same time the pressure is there and every team we play brings their best game. Our main concern is finishing district champions and winning playoff games.”

For senior Jason Arora, being undefeated this season is motivating the team to keep up the energy.

“On Friday we played alright, and we tied so it was a good game,” Arora said. “We have not lost yet, so we are trying to keep that up.”
