Being hospitalized can be traumatic for anyone, but it’s especially true for children according to a literature review conducted by the National Library of Medicine.

However, research has shown playing is proven to be highly therapeutic for children in the hospital.

To help aid in this, PALS is hosting a toy drive to help normalize the hospital environment and ease anxiety in patient“So one of our students in pals his name is Ryan, his younger brother had to be treated over at Medical City Dallas so we’ve been talking all year what are some ways things we can give back to Frisco,” club sponsor David Barr said. “That’s what we’re all about so we thought maybe that’s what we can do to give back to that specific hospital just because that was something that greatly impacted our students and they are always looking for some toys and things to kids who are sick and things to do in the hospital.”

The drive ends Tuesday, but PALS is looking for a way to extend the deadline.

Donations must be new and unopened and can be delivered to room c138.
