The baseball team continued its winning ways on Tuesday, coming away with a 5-1 victory over the Frisco Raccoons and improving the Redhawks District 9-5A record to 7-3, keeping the team one game behind Heritage.

The district season has passed its halfway point with the Redhawks in playoff contention for the second consecutive year.

“I think we are without a doubt a playoff caliber team, and I think we have the potential to get a lot further than we did last year,” junior, pitcher/outfielder, Makai Willingham said via text. “If we can keep attacking on offense early and shutting teams down on the mound, then I think we are going to be pretty dangerous in the playoffs.”

Regardless of the opponent, senior outfielder Jeremy Hussey is confident in the Redhawks’ abilities as they finish the series against Frisco on Friday.

“After our big win against Heritage, we are extremely excited and prepared to continue winning,” Hussey said. “I believe that we will come out strong and play to the best of our abilities, securing us two more wins this week. We just have to come out and play our game of baseball.”
