The Redhawks hope to close out their regular season with a bang as they host the Lone Star Rangers on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Nest. The finale of the District 9-5A season, Friday’s game is also Senior Night as the Redhawks aim to make a final push to remain in playoff consideration.

Among the seniors being honored is Outfielder Yeshas Nath; he believes the Redhawks should emphasize playing a clean game tonight in order to bolster their playoff chances.

“We want to go out there and play our best, focus, and keep the mental mistakes down,” senior OF Yeshas Nathan said. “We’re treating this as just another game – if we control what we can control, we will be successful.”

The team needs to win to remain in playoff contention as they sit in a tie for 4th place.

“As always we will put 100% effort on the field,” junior, catcher Logan Bernanke said via text. “We’ll stick to what we do best. We play solid defense and get runners on base to win the game.”

Either way, senior night is something to celebrate as many of the players near the end of their playing days.

“My favorite part of the season has been being able to watch our seniors perform,” Bernanke said. “They have been inspirational and watching them play their last year here at Liberty has been amazing.”
