Chromebooks for seniors must be returned by Tuesday. If students are leaving Liberty but staying in FISD, they can keep their Chromebooks for their new school.

With the exception of freshmen and sophomores who are part of Frisco ISD’s 1 for All touchscreen Chromebooks, students who have checked out devices from the school must return the equipment starting Monday.

For seniors, Chromebooks must be returned on Monday by 4:30 p.m. while juniors will return their device May 17 before the end of the school day. Students who have not paid, or do not return their Chromebook before the collection deadline, will be placed on a hold list.

Students are also asked to bring their chargers along with their device, and ensure that their computer is in decent condition and working order before returning it to the library on the designated date.

“They need to bring the device and charger to return. If they have lost the charger, they will need to pay for a replacement to turn in at the time of return,” Digital Learning Coach Nicole Lotz said. ‘[Additionally], students with a damaged device need to fill out the repair ticket found in the student portal. Then, bring it to the library to have it repaired.”

In regards to uploading work, students do not need to worry about transferring any documents or files to another device as the Chromebook was designed to save any work made by the student as long as they signed in with their school account.

“On a Chromebook, everything should already be saved to [the students’] Google Drive,” Lotz said. “But, if they do have anything saved to the device, they will need to save it to their Google Drive.”
