The Redhawk tennis team faces the Lebanon Trail Blazers, when they aim to secure a win. The team sits in top 5 in the state of Texas, so they are feeling motivated heading into the match.

The tennis team heads to the court Tuesday where they face the Heritage Coyotes at 4:00 p.m. at The Nest.

“We are looking forward to a competitive match,” head coach Erica Dopson said. “Our team has been working on teamwork and consistency.”

Sophomore Hailey Zhang, who competed in the UIL 5A state tournament last season, is hopeful for what this new season will bring.

“I am hoping for an even better season this year than last year and that there will be a few close matches,” Zhang said. “For Tuesday I think it will be a close match, but if everyone does their best, hopefully we can pull off the win.”

Although the Redhawks believe they will face tough competition, Dopson feels they have a chance at a win Tuesday.

“Our district is strong,” Dopson said. “But our team is working hard and we have high expectations.”
