Cross country is trying to keep it consistent as the Redhawks are preparing for another 5k at North Lakes Park on Saturday for the Marcus Coach T Invitational.

“We’ve been pushing hard at practices this week but we’ve told the kids it’s for the long-run,” coach Ben Manning said. “The biggest concern is the weather, there might be a lot of rain tomorrow and saturday so it can really affect their footing while running.”

Junior Vedant Shah has been steadily improving at practices and is ready to perform this meet.

“Practices have been tiring and I’m really sore but my mentality has gotten stronger and recovery with a day off should get me in great shape for the meet,” Shah said. “I’ve been getting better each practice and I’m hoping it shows because I want to beat my time from last meet.”
